So according to all notable bloggers, to be absent for any given time is wrong. It lowers your views and presence in the field. Successful blogging comes down to regularity of posts and publicity through various social media networks.
So when a blogger jumps off the side of the planet quite like I did early this year, people would say failure was eminent. And I wouldn't disagree.
Although my views during my absence were indeed quite diminished, it was not all bad news. In fact, a break gave my views a low plato, so when I returned, I was able to bring back my old viewers, increase my current readers' loyalty and invite new readers. OK, that makes it sound like a crazy media frenzy, but statistically I have come out better off that I was before I took a forced break due to circumstance changes.
My blog was left alone for quite some time, and I won't say I didn't feel the consequences, but coming back has increased my personal reader base.
So, a step backwards?
